• Piano and clarinet lessons are offered for all age ranges, from 7 (8 in the case of clarinet) through to adult.

• Pupils can enter for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music graded exams, Performance assessments, preparatory tests, and local music festivals.

• Included in all piano lessons is some theory work, and aural training. Pupils are encouraged to take theory exams alongside practical exams. Extra tuition is available for those wanting to enter for Grade 5 theory prior to moving on to higher practical exams.

• I also teach pupils who do not want to enter Associated Board exams, encouraging them to enjoy music and where possible to join with others in playing music together.

• I encourage children and parents to work with a practice diary, and to practice their instrument regularly at home (daily is ideal).
|

• Lessons are offered for varying amounts of time, 20 minutes being the shortest available. This is suitable for very young children (age 7-9) as an introductory route into music. Once pupils progress beyond Grade 5, a 40 minute lesson is advisable.

• I will always offer a free introductory assessment lesson. This will include a brief assessment of learning style through a questionnaire, so that I can tailor teaching to individual need.

|
• Lessons run during school terms, with payment due in advance at the beginning of each half term. I require half a terms notice of cancellation of lessons. I will try to make lessons up that are missed by the pupil, but at busy times this may not always be possible.
